Customers of Ledger are receiving fraudulent wallets in the mail in order to steal their money. A Reddit member reported getting a suspicious package claiming to be from Ledger. Scammers are sending fake Ledger wallets to customers. A letter was included in the delivery, explaining that the user's current wallet needed to be replaced for safety reasons. Ledger has been the source of multiple data dumps involving client information.

Instructions for setting up the new cryptocurrency wallet with the private key were purportedly included in the package. However, a closer examination revealed that the hardware wallet sent was a modified version of the original Nano X. In addition, this redesigned wallet had a number of various connections inside of it. This information is most likely being used by criminals to plan their operations.
