I operate a bitcoin atm business in Michigan, for those of you who do not know me. I have become aware of a scam that some people using to steal your bitcoin. It starts on Craigslist and is usually someone trying to sell a vehicle on the cheap.

Today, in my store a gentleman came in here and wanted to buy $2,500 USD in bitcoin so he could send it to eBay Motors. He was told that eBay Motors would be the middleman and hold his BTC until he received the truck, 2007 Chevy low miles, and had a chance to inspect it. If he was happy, then he was to call or email eBay and have them release the BTC. The email he received looked like it was sent from eBay, very convincing. It had the right logo, colors and format. I couldn't tell it wasn't from eBay and I do quite a bit of business on there myself.

eBay does NOT directly accept BTC in any way. I told this guy I thought this was a scam and we should call eBay first to confirm. After talking to a representative, he knew it was a scam. The guy was so happy he tried to give me $200 for saving him $2,500. I declined the offer and thanked him.

I just wanted to throw this out here as it just happened today and this is an active scam going on now. Hopefully, this will save more people from losing. Please share so people are aware, thank you.
