Hello Steemians,
There's a lot of discussion and speculation regarding the future of Bitcoin, especially in relation to it's growth into the mainstream. Paris Hilton's name has been mentioned and I have just read a post about Floyd Mayweather Tweeting his endorsement of it. Whatever the otcome, there is a lot of positivity around cryptocurrency and it's mainstream use in the future.
Now, there is bound to be much speculation. There will be many projections. There will be lots of high and scary lows, but Bitcoin will continue to grow, in a simmering-like style, until that very special day. The day that the 100th monkey endorses Bitcoin.

I think that there is a subtle vibration of a certain knowledge, that cryptocurrency will one day be used by the 100th monkey and the rest, as they say, will be history. I think that the second work in the attachment, 'The 100th monkey revisited', by Elaine Myers, sums it up rather succinctly in the last paragraph, which I will leave you with:
".........holding positive ideas (as important a step as this is) is not sufficient by itself to change the world. We still need direct communication between individuals, we need to translate our ideas into action, and we need to recognize the freedom of choice of those who choose alternatives different from our own."

I've always liked this story. There was a commercial magic effect released called 'The Hundredth Monkey', but there is no connection between the two, besides the name. The 'creator' in question just used the title and the effect has little to nothing to do with the alleged theory.
On the surface, the theory is a mathematical phenomenon (although it is argued that the claimed results were at least questionable), but there is a moment of acceptance from the adult monkey, between them and their offspring. when the adult realises that their younger is showing them a better way. To me, it seems like it's a twist on the idea of wisdom and it's relation with age. That moment when you realise that your child is wiser in their simplicity than you could have hoped for. When they assure you, by their actions, in a kind of silent dance, that they will be okay. You have done your work well, when you feel at second place to your student/s.

I agree that Steemit has enormous potential and is presently growing noticabbly well. We can all grow within this model quicker and better than on other forums, groups or sites that I have come across. I like the interlinkedness of it all. Steemit turns centralisation on it's head.
I did mention Paris and Floyd, but it was just because they had been in the recent news. Floyd may be seen as a hero, but to me he gets paid for doing in a ring what he does behind closed doors to women and Paris is a vacuous little creature, syphoning energy and positivity out of the planet. Their use of Steemit and D Tube would profile them massively and take it into the mainstream media, I agree. The thing is, I feel that we will genuinely be fine without them as well.
I am very interested in investing in cryptocurrency when I am more solvent and that day needs to arrive sooner, rather than later. I apologise for going off on a slight tangent and doing a bit of a U-Turn on the characters, but I 100% agree with you, is the essence of what I am saying. I am excited about the future and what will develop.
I think we may have similar thoughts as well, in that we are aware that Steemit could really grow fast and I feel if it sticks to originality with no 'single posts', by which I mean, someone just copies a YouTube video and comments with it's title. That is not writing a blog or sharing anything that can't be found elsewhere. I am torn with this, because of the sharing of information, but if we post original ideas and concepts, thoughts and opinions, we can just say, "If you want video proof, besides what I am sharing, please check out '.............." on YouTube".
I like honest, original work, but before you get me wrong, posts like this and others that use video and single pictures are excellent. Those that reference the source are fine, but I still sometimes feel at odds with some of the YouTube references. There are YouTube creators that are here. Hopefully they will bring their followers to D Tube and Steemit.
Anyway, was just mega-rambling there on the possibilities and ideas. I am aiming to start a D Tube and original work only group on here, and I think that I already echo the opinions of a few Steemians, but things might not be that bad. If people want to steal and share, without much input from them (as it is them we ought to be interested in and the work that they produce which we should be supporting and sharing), then who am I to complain and there are ways to report such issues, should they become extreme. Also, by definition of where we are, I should think that such folk would eventually have a very limited following, once folk realise that there is so much here of interest and it is such a good platform for those that wish to create.
I am with Steemit 100% and am here for the long haul. I very much intend to buy Steemit Dollars and am well aware that I had better get a move on. I am presently selling items for cash or bitcoin on Gumtree, which will go straight into Steem Dollars, should they sell.
Right I had better get off. Thanks for the reply and I am sure we'll be chatting more, soon. I think we will one day look back at these comments and laugh at Steem Dollars being just one dollar each and at a time when Bitcoin has been realised for it's potential on a 100th monkey kind of scale, but this 100th monkey is presently the cyber 100th monkey and soon he will go out to the mainstream river bank and wash that sweet potato :).

That's an excellent comment, @jubei333. I can sense the same interest, excitement and energy you have in your post as I do. I wish I had more Steem power, but I know that I will have, as soon as it's possible. We all have only one direction and this is such a positive place. I want to introduce everyone, but want to tell the right people, so to speak, athough I do understand that the more the merrier, but I know many just wouldn't get it. We are all going to have more Steem Power, Dollars and influence and the genuine ones of us, and there are lots on here, will be successfull in their ventures, which they will grow together.
I completely, to the point of almost bursting, understand what you say when you have a lot to offer. Lots of people obviously show this on here and the positive encouragement and community feeling really helps the freedom and growth of the expressions of those that have a lot to offer to the world.
I guess it's fine just to copy and paste pictures or videos, but you have to expect a certain level of audience, both in size and quality, but maybe I am being too much of an old, miserable fart and should take a chill pill? Ha, ha, it's all good.
