Go to the verge discord or reddit and ask for help. I believe you need to load tor on your computer before downloading the wallet(try that first). I'm pretty sure thats what solved my problem, but that was many months ago and I have short term memory issues sometimes. Verge community is large, helpful and full of hodlers, so the price should hold well.

As a miner, I find Elliot Waves a fantastic tool to know WHEN to start mining a mineable coin. During a triangle phase the difficulty goes down, thus easier to mine with more output of coins.
