The question that always comes to mind for me: Who is wanting to regulate and why? Who benefits if regulations are enforced?
Will it stop competitors? Will there be more rules and taxes involved? Do we really need (fill in the blank)?
While I do feel that regulations may need to be in place for some things (I am glad for speed limits), I also think that most do not know how corrupt our governmental bodies are and have been in the past due to the fact that most aren't really concerned about laws unless directly affected.
