I'm interested in hearing from as many people as possible on whether you think bitcoin makes black market transaction easier or harder at the current point in time.
Years ago bitcoin was used to allow a large number of illegal transactions to be conducted on silk road - https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/oct/02/alleged-silk-road-website-founder-arrested-bitcoin.
Just recently bitcoin was discovered to have been used in Russia's election meddling - https://www.cryptocraft.com/news.php?do=news&id=792504.
The questions here are:
Did bitcoin aid Russia in moving money in ways that they could not have using traditional fiat?
Did bitcoin (or blockchain technology more specifically) ultimately provide investigators with a more effective method to track the flow of funds?
Have the tools to investigate such crimes become more sophisticated since the silk road incident?
What is the future of crypto-currencies in relation to crimes in both committing them and investigating them?
To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:
