When bitcoin first started, the only way you could get your hands on it was either to mine it or buy it from someone who mined it, and while mining bitcoin is still how new bitcoins are discovered, the mining process has become more costly where as if you don’t have the latest mining equipment which costs thousands of dollars you are unlikely to mine any significant amount of bitcoins.
However, as the cryptocurrency ecosystem has expanded, as the number of different cryptocurrencies have come on the market, mining is no longer the only way you can obtain cryptocurrencies. Yes you can buy it and buying it is still the fastest and easiest way to get your hand on cryptocurrencies, however they are not the only way.
I will cover 5 different ways to get bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies without spending one dollar.
Mine it – I know what your thinking, I need specialized mining equipment to mine bitcoin and that is true to a certain extent if you plan on having a huge mining operation. However, that is not the only way to mine bitcoin, you can mine bitcoin with your browser.
Granted you won’t mine a lot but the company has a referral program, that as you referrer more people you get a portion of their mining output and as they refer people you get a percentage of that as well. Its sort of like Multi-Level marketing just with cryptocurrencies. Click Here (Referral link) to get started mining bitcoin with your browser
Earn it – So you may be wondering, how do you earn bitcoin? There are a couple ways, I’ll describe the other way in the bonus section below. There is a website called Earn.com (Referral link) which allows you to earn bitcoin by completing task, answering surveys and emails. The site is free to join and will even give you $1.00 in bitcoin for completing and verifying your profile.
Airdrops – An airdrop is a way for crypto based companies to help build a community, reward users and build a base for their products or service. They do so by offering their cryptocurrency to users via an airdrop.
The requirements and amounts vary by company but they usually range from $1-10 worth of cryptocurrency and they usually require that you provide an email address, join their telegram and twitter feeds.
If you would like to find out more about crypto airdrops, you can visit the following sites. ICOAxiom, AirdropAlert, AirdropKing, and Airdrops
Create Content – What if in the early days of Facebook, they rewarded the early content creators? The people that posted photos and articles on the site, the people that made Facebook to a $500 billion dollar social media behemoth that it became.
Well you know how that opportunity with Steemit, if you create content, and are involved in the community, you have an opportunity to earn Steem coins. The more content you create, the more coins you have an opportunity to make.
Lease Space – Do you have extra space on your computer, if so you can rent your space and bandwidth out. Companies like filecoin and Storj and will reward you with their cryptocurrency in exchange for space and bandwidth usage.
The amount will vary with the amount of space you lease. Storj has a waiting listing however, they are accepting to release their product by the end of 2018.
3 Bonus ways of getting cryptocurrencies.
I have given you five different ways to get cryptocurrencies without spending money for it. As a bonus Here are three other ways you can make cryptocurrencies. The reasons that they were not included in the above list is because they may not apply to everyone.
Earn it Bonus version – Another way to earn cryptocurrencies is to do freelance work, on bitcoin talk when a company announces an ICO, they will sometimes offer cryptocurrencies if you help translate for them, many of them pay in their own cryptocurrencies but you maybe able to get them to pay in bitcoin
Work for a crypto based company. There are many companies like Coinbase and other crypto based companies that are need of managers, developers and other professionals. Many of them do pay salaries in cryptocurrencies, most commonly bitcoin.
Granted you do need to get hired by them and you do need to have the skills that they are looking for but if you do, and are looking for a job that pays in cryptocurrencies you should look at a crypto based company.
Just Walk - Yes you can earn cryptocurrency for walking, through an app called SweatCoin. Each step you take gets you a reward and you do have to walk outside.
There is a couple downsides to this app, they only count 65% of the steps you take, and there is no blockchain built for it yet and there is no way of changing the coins earned for other coins. However, they stated that they are working on building a blockchain platform.
Conclusion
As the crypto ecospace expands, as they become more mainstream, you are now able to earn or get cryptocurrencies much easier. The best part of it is that you don’t have to spend fiat money on them.
You can get through creating and posting articles like this one, or leasing space or even just walking. I’m also confident that as the space expands, it will be even easier to obtain and use cryptocurrencies.
Getting your hand on free crypto coins is not only great but if you don’t have any experience with cryptocurrency it would allow you get more exposure to the coins and industry. There is no better time to get started then now.
