The Ups and Downs of Crypto Currency Trading.

This is exactly why I have very little loyalty in Crypto Currencies. One small misstep or rumor and an altcoin can tumble. A nation state decides they will try to regulate ICO's and NEO, Waves or Ethereum drop. Some huge ICO raises millions then the team dumps their Ethereum and BTC, our holdings tank. A new ICO is launched and everyone buys up Ethereum to buy the ICO causing the price to moon.

There are So Many Variables to This Game.

I am not a Hodler. I choose to trade the markets. I Hodl only a handful of Crypto Currencies for the long term. If you hodl you better have nerves of steel. If I see something I own jump 100% you know I am selling a portion and taking profits. Then I will take those profits and move them into something that also has the opportunity to move.

In the End the One Who Buys Low and Sells High Wins.

Hello Hilarski ,
I'm a big time HODLER and follower of passive strategies. I used to actively trade with bad results, little sleep and lots of stress. I sleep like a baby now! I would like to check out Panama soon! How is the libertarian crowd over there? regards

The AnCap and Libertarian crowd is super strong here and we are quite young.

What about the government? Currently leaning left like typically in latin america or business friendly? And taxes?? Would love to visit it soon. I have family (that I barely know) over there.

I try not to engage the gov. Stay off the radar is the name of the game.

Always hold Bitcoin and for other crypto's buying low, selling high would be the best strategy.

Dimecoin all the way!

Bwahahaha!

Either Lobster for Dinner or Ramon Noodles.

Patience wins as I've seen,"buy and hold" is my method and that's my success reason

Everyone has their path.

This is sage advice as usual, friend!

I buy and hold, but I also use your strategy. If something I bought goes way up, I withdraw at least my initial investment. That way I'm no longer risking any of my initial capital. That's a fantastic and wise strategy!

Now, don't get me started on people using profits to buy expensive doodads! They are not being wise, but then who am I to tell them how to spend it, right?! haha

They can buy that uber expensive lambo, sure. Please don't cry to me when it costs you 1K a month in insurance though. ;-)

Toys are not my thing. I will buy a bass boat though and cruise Gatun Lake and fish for Peacock bass!

I would do the same thing! A nice little fishing boat!

An amazing experiment! It perfectly complements your post dear @hilarski!

only way to loose in crypto is to go with rumors

absolutely right i think the secret in crypto is buy low and sell high nothing else.

Nice post !
First image and animation are beautiful .

3-5 year to one trillion dollar market cap- HOLD!

But sometimes....

Hodling strategy works best for me. Any move during big emotions will be bad for you ;)
Buy only most recognizable ones and don't keep them on exchanges!

When you invest you have to hold and turn off your pc hehe

Not me, I am trading like crazy. This is my drug of choice.

Jajajajajaja i feel stressed with dumps so i invest and some days later i see the market

Since I'm so new in crypto, I'm a holder. I do like the idea of trading and I will be experimenting with it soon. @finnian's concept of investing in something that has the potential to go up and then taking out your initial investment when it does go up sounds like a good plan to me.

I'm still a newbie but a total hodler so far. Working up the nerve and strategies for quicker trading. Do you mind sharing which coins you actually do hodl currently for long term? Curious if you've any surprises ;)

I am just wondering how u managed to misspell "hold" three times in a row :P Were the keys switched xD?

That is how you spell it in this industry.

Ah I see, urban language ^^

Great topic
Thanks for sharing

Always interesting posts. Watching and learning!

after some months of trading, i just decide to hodl for some years. let's see what happens. ( i bought tons of eth at 10$ and sold near 15$ o.O

I did the same but I bought at $7.

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.

I don't day trade as much nowadays. I've just invested in some coins for the long term but if you want to be a trader then get ready for a rough ride as sometimes you may make some great profit then the next day you can get be set back to square one

Jajaj you are soooo right!!

I love trading, until I lose money. Then I trade again, get lucky and make some money and I love it again haha

My drug of choice!

If your situation allows it....where one doesn't need a day job to pay their bills...day trading would be fun to try...I know many folks over the years who attempted to day trade stocks...people with no knowledge of investing...just stocks were all going up...no way to lose...but lose they did...frankly...right now...in this coin market...hard to lose on anything decent...just wait...sure...if want to sit and watch the ticker all day...squeeze out gains here and there...it can be addicting...that's why they have programs for gambling issues....

As well...the problem I run into...even when I sell just to take something off the top....I have to have another one lined up to put money back in...

So hats off to those with the chutzpah to do it....or the financial arrangement to attempt it...meanwhile...I'll just keep buying what most people talk about...watch it go up over time...and cash out as I go to reap some reward...that is until it all comes tumbling down...which...don't fool yourself...could happen.

Reality sucks. :-) Nice gif: shows the ups and downs, but the emotions are not included. I would prefer the long run without ups and downs, but get a little bit less profit.

patience i think is the best way in the crypto world bro @hilarski :) great example of that balls :)

Reality is different from what you think. Great post. thanks for sharing.

It is so volatile and thanks for sharing this!

I agree with you my friend!

I think there is a lot of truth to don't marry your investments. Different strategies are for different folks. Personally I like to actively invest. Not trading but holding some core assets that I strongly believe in and that I can hold 3-5 years for the hopeful 100X+ returns. If its the general stock market its usually great to get 100% over that same period. I like to combined that with an active investing strategy where I take on more risk trying to pick out lower caps with big potential. I will also start trading more breakouts as 9 out of 10 breakouts I have been calling correctly. The whole goal is to outperform the crypto index. If I can't do that then its probably best to just buy the index and come back in 5 years.

I warned you about your scams!

I dont think you have reason to flag these comments. It must be something personal, I am used to it, that other men need to hold me out of the circle, its usually because of they feel threaten by me.

It was a very good recommendation I did of Bitconnect in the past and it could be the same of Embercoin in the future.

I see comments that are more inside of your comfort zone, but doesnt really say anything, other then "oh you are a good guy and I am your sub" are welcome... instead of comments with real information.

Have a good night!
