For everyone who thought they lost everything yesterday I am here to inform you that it appears we have exited the worst of the storm. Congratulations to everyone who did not panic sell. High Five to the HODLers who have seen this so many times before.
Like many of you my portfolio is way way down but I am not worried. In the past I would have tried to play the market volatility with leveraged BTC trades on Bitmex but I have chosen to take the less stressful route of HODLing. Many of my friends made small fortunes, yesterday in that mayhem, with leveraged positions of 5X - 10X. I am happy for them, but I am happier that I did not lose anything just USD value temporarily.
I HODLed.
And in the times of dip I had even bought some tokens cheaply.
If I have MORE tokens now, even if currenly they are worth less in $, did I lose something? No. I lose nothing, I gained something )

That's just during the turbulent times. And that's because cashing out requires you to transfer your holdings into Bitcoin. Just like cashing in requires you to buy into Bitcoin.
Beware of the Bitcoin pump before the alt coin trade dump (moving of new Bitcoin, which is pumping the value temporarily into Bitcoin, out of Bitcoin and into alts). Although new money very well may HODL a portion in Bitcoin as a "reserve", similar to how you may hold Fiat in a trading account in reserve.

I have always been against automatic vote, if you really build relationships with other users, it implies the reading of their materials and live comments on the subject.
But, I understand that it's hard to find free time for this (every day follow updates of friends and participate in discussions). I got really lucky, I was afk getting drunk with a Canadian buddy who lives down the street from me and only came home to do chicken chores.
Usually, all you have to do is look at the 7 days or 1-month chart to breathe a sigh of relief. Anyway, I'm like you now and rarely move any coins to play the up and downs of coins, It takes too much time and mental energy. I HODL what I like and walk away.

The biggest lesson learned was not to panic and sell. HODL what you already have and buy during the dip. Most people who bought bitcoin when it dropped to 9k are now sitting at a solid 25 - 30 % profit. These are the lucky few who dare to enter the storm.
Those who sold in panic i hope you realize your mistake. Next time you get into crypto remember this incident and HODL when drops happen.
