I've been anticipating and expecting this stock market(and U.S. Dollar Currency Index) bearishness to be the actual catalyst of the crypto bull run, despite the general consensus that it needs an ETF or regulation to break out of this annoying AF no-trade zone.

Update(October 16, 2018 10:35 UTC): From what I saw in the tradingview chat room and on twitter, most people thought the extra USDT FUD lately was going to send crypto to new yearly lows, but I remembered back to last year when USDT dropping to ~.90 before a bitcoin pump was a regular occurrence. As such, especially due to my TA throughout the the crypto and traditional markets, as soon as the FUD became apparent I started telling people in the chat room that the FUD was going to be good for bitcoin, as BTC is the only escape from USDT on some exchanges, and as the USD exchange rate falls during panic, people will choose selling it for BTC rather than USD. Personally, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if USDT soon proves to be a more stable peg(or an inversely less stable) to the dollar than the dollar is to itself, as bearish as I am on DXY for the time being. I certainly do not 100% discount the FUD, however. If I was to mess with stablecoins in the near future, I'd stick with TrueUSD for a while. Maybe PAX but I haven't done enough research on it yet.
Update(October 13, 2018 9:31:39 AM UTC): Here's a screenshot of the altcoin market cap right now...
