Bitfinex is a crypto-currency exchange trading and currency-storage platform based out of Hong Kong and owned and operated by iFinex Inc. Since 2014, it has been the largest Bitcoin exchange platform, with over 10% of the exchanges' trading.
As of Friday 25/08, 00:00 UTC recovery of deposit errors (e.g. depositing BCH to a BTC address and vice versa) will be subject to a $25 fee.
The decision to charge a fee, seemingly the first in the exchange business, received shrewd responses, with celebrated trader and commentator WhalePanda suggesting support capabilities could likewise benefit from the $25 injections.
