Hey cryptoguru here with some wisdom...
Bitcoin will reach a stage of mass adoption no question about that. It will come to a point were everyone who has joined the network will stay within the network but why it wont reach the critical masses . I believe it can reach close to 40-50% adoption just below the internet which is close to 65-70% adoption. Why it wont reach everyone who has internet is because other cryptocurrencies with a lot cheaper network fees will surpass bitcoin in usage. Why pay a massive amount more in network fees when you only pay 2 cents in network fees with bitcoin cash, litecoin, an even ethereum. The best part of all these cryptocurrencies is they are almost instanteously transeferred to the other peers. Bitcoin take 30mins -1hr to move to the other peers.
Eventually people will start to catch on and realize that bitcoin is not really used for transactions and mainly used to store your wealth and big purchases. I admire bitcoin for becoming the first ever p2p system using the blockchain technology but if the network fees persist it wont be the king of crypto for much longer..
