Cryptocurrency Is Not A Criminal (or is it)

Cryptocurreny Is Not A Criminal

Since the inception of cryptocurrency the general consensus has been mixed because of the potential for harmful connotation. That said, cryptocurrency could be used to support criminal activities. It is more visible as of late in such computer system infiltrations as the wanna cry ransom ware attacks. Given this as there has been a surge in both complexity and size of the system being taken on. The public is trying to leverage how bad cryptocurrency is as they imagine a world in which kidnappers utilize this currency to heighten their anonymity.

Inside The Ethos

What people need to understand is if someone wants to commit an illegal act the type of currency won’t matter. When I was about 18 I stole a sweater from a department store and had to go to a meeting group for people that steal. In that group it was beyond apparent people either did it of necessity or because it was a rush. Regardless of the reason they wanted to take the product. I’ll never forget the security guard that caught me shook their head saying I bet you have enough money on you to pay for the sweater and I did. Cryptocurrency would not be different in the case of ransom or anything else.

Imagine a ransom in which a dead drop takes place digitally. With this scenario there is a lack of exposure but even still everything leaves a trace. Cryptocurrency can be moved to a new address would mean that this be deferred. However, it would not be found.

Detriments of the Fearful

We live in a world of hypotheticals whereas in said world kidnappers may demand payment in Cryptocurrency. If something is going to happen it will and all we can do is keep on keeping on. Some countries monitor blockchain activity for large payments. The application of the law may have already fixed this situation before a transaction has completed.

There is also the possibility that those unfamiliar with cryptocurrency can lead to a bad situation. For example, if a kidnapper asked someone for money that lacks in technology literacy it could spell disaster for the hostage. Delay or cancellation of payments is not only a disaster for the victims but also is problematic for the kidnappers. Remember, these people want money to feed, not to hide, or of the abuse and the killing of the victim.

While Cryptocurrency as a means can make for potentially good dead drop there are problems because there is no absolute in something working 100% of every time. I don't see how Cryptocurrency is seen as easier or more attractive to increase the supposed criminal would in relation to the new “bad money”. Too few people know Blockchain analysts work tirelessly to connect you addresses, personal information, and to large sums of money, it is just less convenient than other payment methods.

I'm not saying that is open season on all because of cryptocurrency. I don't believe fear is the answer. If a kidnapper asks for a ransom the crime had been committed and was going to be committed because someone saw and opportunity and decided to take said opportunity. Yes, cryptocurrency is the way of both the present and the future in relation to our money type but advancements in money transactional ability won’t change a criminal mind.

Conclusion

There is a lot of confusion and fear in what is not understood. Hopefully, people realize it is nonsense to entrust your freedom to someone else or even worse an institution. Yes, I said freedom because without funds for what you need you may experience difficulties in your journey. At the end of the day people should stop looking for a scapegoat or someone to blame. Instead, they should look toward how they can help the world become a better functioning place without crippling it through fear tactics.

Not long ago a group of hospitals were hit with a type of ransomware in England and it happens more often you’d imagine. Viruses are going to shake up the system every now and again but the only way to get over the problem is to understand if at all possible why. From there you make a probable solution and go forward instead of spreading fear. This piece was written to let people know that cryptocurrency is not the thing to fear. People that do bad things are the actual problem as a bitcoin or other crypto types never tried to hurt me and I doubt it ever will.

Cryptocurrency is still new, and unknown or strange to the majority of people, once it will reach the popularity of PC or SmartPhone and the technology become easier to use, and accessible to all, only then it will become a norm. Then maybe we may not need to ask this question!

It's crazy but even if cryptocurrency had been around for 50 plus years people would still find a way to blame the money itself.
