@palani,

Thanks for the Solid Post.

Salutations. I am JaiChai.

Pleasure to make your acquaintance.

RE: Your Post

Komodo's total fixed supply is 200 million coins. 100 million coins were pre-mined and distributed in the ICO.

Out of this 100 million coin premine, 90 million were distributed to investors.

10 million coins were kept aside for future development and marketing of the Komodo platform.

Pros

The white paper is readable, with less fluff than most.

Only 50% of total fixed supply will eventually be controlled by the miners (mining lifespan is ~14 years) through their dPoW - an added layer of security via notarizing each block.

zk-SNARK is top notch security and has been - or will be - adopted by many other coins (e.g., ZCash, HCash, etc.).

Cons

The distrubution of the premine seems a bit skewed to me. It also represents 50% of the total fixed supply, but only 10% of the 100 million coins are reserved for future development and marketing.

Its success relies heavily on the success of the SuperNET ecosystem (a decentralized entity that develops open-source projects for the cryptocurrency space); of which, KMD is the official currency.

Roughly 60% (4 of 7) of the development team is titled as a "part-time developer".

That premine is pretty substantial. Thank you for the post.
