wow nonsowrites! thanks so much for explaining all of this to me, you really know your stuff and must be well educated from good schools and colleges.

yes the government needs to get the basics like power up to date or that will keep investors out. too bad your government doesn't own the oil companies. but there is hope because of elections, are there good people running?

It's embarrassing highlighting all the bad aspects of my country, but Nigeria has a history of recycling old politicians. The ones that survived the military era snaked themselves into this present democratic era, sowing corrupt seeds that have rooted itself in the country's system . These men have done more harm than good. Men who have no stake in the future of Nigeria are dictating and distorting it. The 2019 election is looking very much the same as previous elections-- politician pushing their agendas, playing on the intelligence of the masses. I am of the opinion that things may not change because they've mastered and renovated the template they've used to keep the bound--politicking, politicking, politicking.

However, I will like to state that the Nigerian youths are becoming more aware of these politician and their tricks, and are vocal about views.

Nigeria is a beautiful country with hard-working people, but I am not going to sugarcoat the truth, there is something fundamental wrong with my country, bad leadership being the major culprit.

howdy this evening nonsowrites! thanks so much for the information, there are so many countries with corrupt leaders that sabotage the future of their own nation. But the youth does sound promising if they are aware, how is it that they are?

Is it because of the internet?

Yes of course. The Internet has been a medium where young Nigerians can express themselves fully, champion courses with various hash tags that have changed government policies and focused the government to look in the direction of the people and their pressing needs. One of such is the #ENDSARS campaign to stop police brutality.
However this has led to what we tag 'armchair activism' where many are vocal online ans silent offline, and if I'm honest, I follow under this category of persons. However, this battle must be fought and won on both two separate grounds--online and offline, and we must fully participate. I want to use this opportunity to urge my fellow young Nigerians to fulfil their civic responsible to our beloved country by voting in the next general election. We can't keep on stressing the old rhetoric that our votes doesn't count, how would we know if we never participate in the electoral process?

howdy today sir nonsowrites! well, that is a very noble cause to try and unite the young people and to get them fighting for their future. What a great cause, just getting them aware of what changes are needed is the most important step and then if some powerful people can step forward and help them then things might or should, begin to change.
