Have you heard that quote yet?
You know the one I am talking about, the one where people dismiss bitcoin and say we won't even be talking about it a few years from now because it won't be a thing.
Basically dismissing it as something similar to beanie babies or some other short term fad.
The problem with that is that they said that 10 years ago, and here we are.
They said that back in 2017 and here we are 4 years later.
My favorite one was Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin saying he won't be talking about bitcoin several years from now as treasury secretary...
The funny thing about that is that he was right!
But not because bitcoin died, because he's no longer treasury secretary!
Ha! So, bitcoin outlasted him!
How's that for irony!

I'm not sure we will ever get to the point that everything is priced in satoshis, but you have to admit it makes some sense in terms of setting a value on something.
There needs to be a standard unit of measurement on some level.
My guess is that bitcoin because the universal settlement layer for central banks and governments globally, but who knows, perhaps it someday is used for payments as well.
It's pretty public for people to want to use it for every day payments...
No privacy for personal consumption if everything is on a blockchain...

Bitcoin is definitely my favourite topic, I love talking about the pros and cons of this revolutionary technology.
When it comes to the future everyone is an expert. It's easy to imagine that a few years from now Bitcoin or any other crypto booming right now will be dismissed.
It's easy to believe that because of its volatility that it will fall to the wayside.
It's easy to imagine that every single person will forget about the promises this currency and money others promised.
And you know what? I have good news for you. Steemians are a few of several people who believe these prophets of Doom like Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are getting it all wrong.
You see, I believe that blockchain technology is becoming more and more integral to society.
To me, it feels like a rare future tech that was developed close to the ground.
Not like a Silicon Valley built idea but a true development of the future of innovation. Blockchain is all the rage right now. The bubble has really hit it's peak and I really do believe it here to stay.
