DigiByte And The Possibility Of Earning Cryptos Gaming!

in bitcoin •  8 years ago  (edited)

Couple of weeks ago I was on poloniex with about $50, and had no idea what I was doing. During a 2-3 day period at that time, this one coin named "DigiByte" caught my attention. It skyrocketed from 1200 sats to 2500 sats in around 24 hours. I managed to get in and was able to make $10 too, around this hype. (rumoured partnership with citibank)

High volatility is the ideal feature for a coin to have for you to day trade, and DigiByte provided me just that, for a 3 day span. But at that time, I wasn't aware of the reason for the hype, so I was left holding some coins bought at 1700 sats when it dropped to 1200 sats and never went up again that much in the next 10 days (until now).

During this time, I researched into the coin and discovered it wasn't just another 'shitcoin', this coin had a nice and active community backing and 3 years of history. Then I decided to buy some more coins at 1100 sats , which is the pre pump price, and I believe it is going to increase many fold in the next year or so.

The 'Core Pillars ' as mentioned on their website :

"

  • Absolute Security: Our number one priority will now and forever be network and user security.

  • Speedy Transactions: We strive to create the fastest possible decentralized transactions.

  • Worldwide Decentralization: Keep the network open, transparent and accessible at all times.

  • Ease of Use: Allow anyone to use and benefit from DigiByte in an easy to understand manner.

  • Flexible Innovation: Quickly improve, adapt and innovate as new technology and threats arise.

"

It has 5 different proof-of-work mining algorithms, only coin with multiple mining algorithms, some of which are ASIC, GPU and even CPU friendly. This makes DGB one of the few coins which you can still 'solo mine' on your computer with a graphics card and have decent profits. If you're interested in mining, take a look at this.

Unique use cases:

  • DigiByte gaming. You can earn coins playing CS: GO and LoL (only these two games as of now) though unfortunately it's currently down, they have announced that gaming is certainly on their roadmap for the future. So I'd closely watch out for updates !

"DiguSign allows you to securely store, notarize, validate and secure any document in a public, worldwide decentralized blockchain. By taking the secure cryptographic SHA256 hash of a document and embedding it in a DigiByte blockchain transaction that is then broadcast to thousands of servers across the planet in a decentralized manner."

Here is a comprehensive rundown from the official DigiByte account on bitcointalk forum.

This is their subreddit.

I'm buying as much as I can since it's only ~3 cents now :)

Thanks for making the post from the perspective of someone new. I've believed in Digibyte since the beginning. I never expected it to rise in value so fast. But then again I never expected it to remain undervalued for so long. I'm still holding and will be holding for much longer. It isn't just a hype coin, it is the real deal.

I hope the gaming side can come back would love to use it

Same it is somewhat sad it fell down but i feel like it will pick up soonish.

Yea me too, wish I had gotten in earlier lol.

Same lol. CS GO finally wouldve been fun to play comp lol

DBG has given me good gains in the past, however I was in the same boat as you and got in a bit late at 1800 and still holding a few. It does look like it has great potential and considering the price it is at, it should be an ideal long term hold.

I literally had the chance to buy some dgb at 79 sats.

And now I'm sitting here cursing myself :(

I think it's still not too late to purchase some

The boat has been missed my friend :(

Resteemed ;)

thanks

i got super lucky and bough a bunch of it when it was 89sat - yeah I did a little happy dance when i sold some at 2300 - (and I might jump in and get some more)
