Usual tinfoil hat memes. I think you are overestimated the competence of the world's elites, as is common in conspiracy thinking. I think Bitcoin could have side-effects that some people won't like, such as making quantitative easing less effective, or exacerbating automation by displacing a bunch of financial sector workers. I even think it will have insane inequality (already does). But that Reddit thread makes numerous claims that are quite silly.
