FanDuel is out with a new Fantasy Sports game that is offering prizes in bitcoin.

Sports?

Cryptocurrency?

My two favorite things?

FanDuel is offering a free fantasy sports game targeted at the NFL playoffs.

How it works:

If you are familiar with Fantasy Football, you will pick this up right away.

Basically, how it works is contestants will pick players from the pool of available players and based on how they do in their real playoff game this weekend, you will get points.

The better they do the more points they will score for your fantasy team.

Each contestant will have a fixed budget with which to spend on his players for each game.

The better the player is projected to do, the more he will cost. It is not possible to pick all of the "best players" to fill out your roster so there will be some strategy involved to get the most out of your budget.

Then, once your roster is selected, it will be matched against thousands (millions?) of other lineups submitted from other contestants.

If your team happens to score the most fantasy points you win the prize!

What is the prize you may be wondering?

This is where things get a little interesting.

For the free game, the winner gets 1 bitcoin.

Yes you read that right, if you win a free fantasy sports contest that lasts one day, you could walk away with roughly $16k worth of value at current bitcoin prices.

Bitcoin for playing a sports game? It's too cheap not to play!

Nice... that is good promotion on their part! I signed up for No Limit Fantasy Sports recently so I am in a few fantasy football contests this weekend on that site to earn some No Limit Coins. Good luck this weekend!

I'm actually really frustrated with this. I mean I guess it's great for coin--but the contest is horribly unfair. 999,999 entries @ 3$ and only pays out 3 bitcoin???

I think a lot of different industries are looking for ways to get into the crypto market. Sports is just one of many.
I've never been big into fantasy sports but this is HUGE in that its another example of mass adoption. FANTASTIC!

Snap.. I wonder if they will come in and accept crypto now too..? Do you use NLC2? Platform is up and running and works nicely. It also has much lower fees than fan duel

Probably. I believe for the current games you still have to enter with cash (besides the free game), though they will probably allow crypto at some point if they are going to pay out in crypto.

It's possible that the country you are in, or state, doesn't allow FanDuel. They aren't legal everywhere due to the gambling nature.

Starting Cam @ NO with Lattimore back from injury? Boom-bust potential there, wouldn't you rather run with Brees who will probably throw on the Panthers' run-stopping D?

Corey Davis is gonna struggle vs the Chiefs too, the Arrowdome will prove too much for Mariota who's struggled this season and he's not going to be throwing for over 200. Bear in mind Murray is out so while they may have to throw it a lot, Chiefs can play a lot of cover 3 deep so the speedster Davis will probably get double coverage looks. Similarly, Delanie Walker will probably spend more time blocking, and rumours are he's playing hurt. IMO if possible maybe start Olsen for Panthers @ your TE spot- Saints haven't played him this season so he may expose holes in their D they haven't yet adjusted for, and Cam will probably float one to him in the RZ on a garbage time TD when down by a few scores.

Not gonna lie though I like your approach. It's basically gonna either boom massively or bust completely, and to be in with a chance to win in things like this, you want a high-performing group point total that conservative picks may not manage to amass. I would definitely advice against Walker at TE though, I can't see much if any upside for that.

Some good advice here. I agree with your thoughts, but it becomes tricky with the balance you have to work with. Give it a try and see what kind of lineup you come up with!

I tell you what, that was a great call to go with Henry and even Walker who did far better than I expected! Unfortunate for Andy Reid but a great game for Mariota, whose first career postseason TD pass goes to... himself! Congrats on your success so far, unfortunate about Davis' play but hitting on over 50% of players any fantasy week will normally bring you the win. Best of luck to Newton tomorrow for you, even though I'm rooting for a Saints victory!

Fanduel is a great way to get your share of the profit. If you are familiar with football, then you are in the place where success is waiting for you and it's not a joke.

You need to choose players from the pool and earn money from them. Each player has its own value, it will bring and take money from you. It all depends on the qualifications and other parameters of your player.

You will also have a team and the most impressive is that your team can win.you win it and get your money...

In a free game, any lucky and prudent game can win 1 bitokin, and this is just a welcome prize.
It's just fantastic .

This sounds really interesting. One bitcoin is definitely too much at stake to not give this a try. I am familiar with fantasy sports particularly the FPL which is for the English soccer league. Would have to brush up on American football and give this a try. Thanks for the information.
