Want to fix the carbon footprint of BTC? Add a carbon tax... it's that simple

We don't need to fix Bitcoin, we need to fix the energy industry

Bitcoin is already well equipped to run on clean energy.

So, why doesn't it?

It's simple really, it's not economical to do so.

How do you make that happen?

You simply add a carbon tax on emissions and you will find that bitcoin mining goes almost entirely green and it happens very quickly.

Outside of China, much of the bitcoin mining is already being done using renewables.

For some context on this issue, bitcoin mining isn't even that big of a problem (yet):

Airplanes and jets leave one of the largest carbon footprints of anything else on the planet yet I don't hear anyone asking to ban the airline industry.

And don't even get me started on rockets...

Just looking at one of Elon's latest rocket launches should give you an idea of what is going out into the atmosphere.

Anyways, a carbon tax levied globally would go a long ways in moving the industry green in a hurry.

Don't fix bitcoin, it's not broken, fix the energy industry.

Stay informed my friends.

This really was a pretty simple fix.

Why is no one else talking about this?!

Seems like any fix for a problem that isn't as big as it's being made out to be.

yes, I agree with you friends, there is no need to improve bitcoin, what we need right now is the energy that must be improved. greetings of success for friends ...

Funny thing about all this clean energy stuff is , most of the people bitching about it are invested in fossil fuels like coal and oil and gas.
