Bitcoin Crash Precipitated by Tokyo Whale

in bitcoin •  7 years ago  (edited)

Over on ZeroHedge, there is an article about a Single Individual that may have been responsible for the majority of the bitcoin decline earlier this year.

While the prices were definately inflated and needed a correction, I think this was the very large snowflake that caused the avalanche. What makes it more troubling is that it was Nobuaki Kobayashi who is the bankruptsy trustee for Mt Gox who apparently sold about $400 million worth of bitcoin. I don't know the back ground of how he came into holding his bitcoins, but it seems suspicious given the affiliation with the worst bitcoin exchange theft of all time. Note: I'm not making accusations... but its one of those coincidences that makes your eye brows raise a bit.

Unfortunately, I HODL'd all the way down. :)
