If you are not aware Feathercoin is one of the oldest actively developed open source cryptocurrencies. With Feathercoin, founder Peter Bushnell wanted to create a “lighter than light” coin that could be widely used for everyday payments. It was initially derived from Litecoin, which itself is a modified version of Bitcoin.

Feathercoin is based on NeoScrypt, implementing many features not seen in the majority of crypto coins. If i recall correctly it was the first coin to use this algo in times when everything was sha256 or pure scrypt.

Many of you may not know of this coin because its old or could think its dead development wise. Worth to mention their fundation here.
It is a non-profit organization, created to foster the development and acceptance of Feathercoin and to contribute back towards Bitcoin. After all, a stronger system benefits everyone in the community.

The open source movement has shown that money alone can’t buy a passionate, engaged and committed community. The foundation also knows that more development can be done on the coin, which will, in turn, better serve the community. The foundation is doing this by making its development research available to others.

The mission of the foundation is to improve user experience and push new coin developments. And since the creation of the foundation, there has been a flurry of development for Feathercoin. One of the first projects of the foundation is developing a more user-friendly wallet. And in April the first hardware wallet for Feathercoin was launched

FTC Benefits for The Users

Feathercoin as a cryptocurrency is faster and lighter than its predecessors, enabling people to send money globally without the need for a centralised banking system, thus empowering users.

It protects against fraud using a public blockchain which prevents transactions being counterfeited and Feathercoin has added protection against reversing transaction attacks with its automatic checkpointing.

Payments are fast (10 times faster than Bitcoin), global, and secure with near zero payment fees. Therefore merchants do not have to pass on the cost of business to the customer.

It is seriously so crazy to think back of the time when there was just bitcoin, litecoin and then very few altcoins like feather coin. How times have changed I think we might of been better off back then compared to where we are today with 1500 + coins of which 98% are total trash

Yeah not to many new features just bug fixes. Namecoin twitter account is active-I once said some dead coins, xxx,namecoin,...and they responded saying,We are? ... They are alive just have like 1-2 devs left..

Hey sir the King of Cryptocurrencies it's a interesting coin seems to me and will be widely accepted if it gets some attention by these type of posts like you.

Hola,por mi parte poseo algunas monedas feathercoin guardadas(Hold),también la tengo en formato físico de colección(se puede apreciar en la imagen),es cierto que es antigua,pero tiene ventajas favorables sobre bitcoin y litecoin,y eso le da puntos a favor,mis saludos.
