Writing isn't exactly something I am bad at but the problem is the lack of topics that come to mind when I want to write about something. If I have already planned something out then it is just a matter of what to and how to write it. But if I don't have a topic in mind or there are way too many to choose from it becomes kind of difficult. So I was thinking to myself, what would be good to write about, what might make my creative juices flow for the day...nothing came to mind...I am just sitting here staring at the screen, fiddling with the pen in my hand..checking my phone..trying to see if there is something that will inspire me but alas all in vain. So instead of wracking my brain against the wall...I will just talk a little about my journey into the world of cryptocurrency in general.
Let's take a trip back in time first...the year is 2009..Bitcoin was created by Satoshi Nakamoto as a new tech in order to make transactions easier and decentralized at the lowest costs. It was also around that time I heard about bitcoin for the first time but you know like many other skeptical people...(and mainly the fact that we were still using dial-up connection at home..I didn't bother with it. I just wanted to play runescape or the other online browser based games that came out.)...I didn't get into mining it. That was also the year that I decided to finally travel to the Philippines so that I could escape from all the drama in my family and probably finish my college. (That one didn't go as planned.) But Bitcoin slowly began to gain popularity and eventually it hit the all time high of 1K...which caught my eye...I didn't mine it but I did spend a few pesos here and there to get myself a little bit and started trading around with it.
I got burned a lot while trading bitcoin...I was new to trading and the high volatility of it didn't help me either. So what did I do? Did I invest more? No...I had already lost a lot of money that I had risked...so I decided to look for alternatives..(I was having a hard time living here in the Philippines with all my support cut off...family was in the middle of full on war against each other and didn't trust anyone.) Unable to finish college, unable to support myself...I still ventured into the world of crypto...and instead of spending what little cash I had left...I began looking for alternative ways to make some money and that is where faucets came in. Faucets for bitcoin were the second step in my journey...I hadn't learnt about the other coins that had come out and missed those trains as well. After all I had little information about it...the faucets didn't pay enough but I gathered whatever I could and tried again...this time I thought I was wiser and well I did wisen up but not as much as I had believed. I still got burned but it didn't hurt as bad. Eventually I learned about other coins through reddit and slowly started to get involved in them.
I met a few people who began to show me the ropes of some of those coins and the tech behind them...like coinaday who introduced me to Nyancoin...eventually I ended up on Irc...where I bumped into @sammosk, @buzztiaan and many others who became like mentors...and taught me things here and there. Dogecoin, Nyancoin, OKcash...and a few other coins became my favorite coins to invest in and I understood the value of long term holding over day trading. Day trading is difficult, if you don't know how to read the charts properly and if you don't pay attention to all the chatter on the web about the different coins then it can be quite a pain. Most coins will suffer from a pump and dump and getting out at the right time can be difficult to find. But I am still in love with crytocurrency and I am still investing in them whenever I can now even while I have to work hard to take care of my family.
Well we all have our favorite coins to hold, what coins are you guys holding and why? Do let me know.

I particularly like the coins with a utility and purpose, like distributed resilient storage and things like Steemit and smart contracts within Eth and similar coins. Bitcoin getting that improvement recently was very nice as well.
Some really cool stuff out there.
Just have to avoid the million and one not so good coins haha.
Thanks for sharing. <3

Thanks for sharing what you like about the coins you invest in and yeah that is definitely true there are so many coins with nothing to show for the tech, just plain clone coins mainly used for pumps and dumps.

Hi @chinito, well don't worry about it. Well they are basically a site with ads running on it..you put in your bitcoin wallet address and you earn very minimal amount of it...if it was before bitcoin reached the ath...you might have made 1 bitcoin but no a days those things payout so little that they aren't even worthwhile. Have done the same mate :)
