Cloud Computing: Golem(GNT) Gridcoin(GRC) and IEXEC (RLC)

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

Since I heard of the GOLEM project, I have been on board with cloud computing as a great application for the blockchain, and especially cryptocurrency. However, recently in a conversation with @ender, he brought two additional cloud computing groups to my attention. These are GRIDCOIN and IEXEC RLC.

I have not yet done significant research into these coins or companies, nonetheless, a cursory glance showed that they are approaching the market, in some instances faster than GOLEM.

I will continue to research the true functions and viability of these coins that are new to me, but in the mean time I have diversified my golem investment to include pieces of these two coins for 1 simple reason.

Any company or group that is on the verge of coming to market with a legitimate cloud computing platform based on the blockchain has potential in a couple areas:

  1. Publicity - a development in the cloud computing field will draw publicity, and with publicity come speculative pickers.
  2. Technology - Cloud computing is a real barrier, processing power is a real commodity which certainly has intrinsic value. Any cloud computing platform that comes to market in the near future has potential to draw at least a large initial crowd.
  3. Chance - Although I currently still believe that GOLEM is the best option for a cloud computing platform, the chance that these other two could be better was worth diversifying into them for me. Currently with the crypto world the way it is, a small investment can lead to large benefits very quickly, even if the company doesn't pan out.

(THIS IS NOT INVESTMENT ADVICE, JUST MY OWN BELIEFS),

good luck out there cloud computers- hope we have a blockchain cloud computing setup in place before the end of the year!

Thanks for rounding up these clouds computing coins. I've heard of Gridcoin and Golom but not the third. Cloud computing could indeed be the next big thing and I might have to consider investing in one or all of these options!

Wow my votes are up to 5c!

Now there is also sonm, but I know nothing about it except the name.

Gridcoin has been working for years, the others are still in development AFAIK, dont believe the ICO hype...

I acutally think that Golem is overhyped and that gridcoin does better at the moment. Boinc is around for years and has delievered a huge amount of computing time. The computing power of team gridcoin makes team gridcoin actually on place sixty of the top500 supercomputer list (https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@grider123/gridcoin-is-the-sixtieth-fastest-supercomputer-in-the-world).

And the fact that 51 % of the Golem tokens are owned by 5 addresses does not make it look better for me (Https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@sc-steemit/why-golem-falls-flat-compared-to-gridcoin-network#).

As I can say for me I go completly for gridcoin! If gridcoin fails I've still contributed to science and that feels good.

I've been thinking about getting into Golem. I should stop hesitating lol.

Actually you should hesitate, I just saw evidence its 51% owned by 5 addresses... https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@sc-steemit/why-golem-falls-flat-compared-to-gridcoin-network#

Good to know. Thanks

Great discussion point. I was about to post a similair post. Investing in cryptos is still a risky thing. We do need more indept investment analysis. I found this great website: https://www.coincheckup.com I really missed a platform that analyses every single coin in depth but this site gave me all the answers.

Iexec is by far the most amazing cloud computing token out there. They have been working hard no hype rubbish

This is going to big 2018 I predict it hitting £100 to £200 a token and that’s just the start

Holding to 2020

RLC - probably the best long-term HODL, currently! amazingly low marcet cap comparing to peers. Huge prospects! Hodl it in our portfolio! Long and Strong!
