Cryptogram is my personal journal of thoughts about cryptocurrencies and related topics. I am posting them on Steemit as a means of keeping a record of them. Today, 2 topics on my mind.
- Hush has stated that they will be performing a fork exactly like the upcoming Zclassic fork to BTCP. Subsequently, the hush coin has gone up about 10x in the last week. This rise is i assume from people who knew the announcement was coming buying up all the hush they could cheaply. The name of Hush's forked coin will be Bitcoin Hush - Personally i think its a little inferior to Bitcoin Private. Normally, i wouldnt place that much value on a name. But considering the primary role of these two forks is a publicity stunt, i think the name may be important. Also, Zclassic, seem to be a little more professional about it, hush seems to have announced via a somewhat poorly formatted tweet.
I realize this sounds like im in favor of zclassic of hush. I think i am , although i couldnt really identify why. Maybe because zclassic was first, and becasue they were first, i think it was their idea and now Hush seems like a copy cat. I also realize that behind the scenes, hush may have been first, but zclassic beat them to market, although i doubt it for some reason.
overall, i am in favor of all privacy coins taking prevalence, but the growth in these coins due to announcements is unsustainable.
- Second thought today: This morning i managed to move STORM tokens that i had from a hardware wallet to an exchange and trade them. My gas price was about 50 gwei and the transfer was almost instantaneous. I was pleasently surprised due to the consistant 20 - 30k txs in the ETH mem pool. I was very worried i would have trouble trading any ETH token, but this experience gave me some hope. ETH is alive and well, even if it is working out some scaling issues.

Purpose of CryptoGram:
Currently in the crypto space it can be difficult to remember what you have discussed or been thinking from one week to the next. The rapid development of, and many changes in the space keep everyone on their toes. Now that I have been financially involved in the space for roughly a year, I realize that I would love to have my thoughts from 2017 written down somewhere. I believe having this information will help me stay focused, avoid repeating past mistakes, and hopefully help some other people, (anyone who decides to read this,) from making those same mistakes.
Briefly, I need a place to record my train of thought and that place will now be dubbed "CryptoGram"
My initial thoughts on the structure of this post will be:
- About 500 words
- Frequency of once a day to once a week
- Each post will have a number and date
- A snippet of top 5 cmc coins for price reference.
- I will always use these 5 tags, (unless of course there are drastic changes, but for now these will be the tags!)
