The state of the market:
For new readers:
Cryptogram is my personal journal of thoughts about cryptocurrencies and related topics. I am posting them on Steemit as a means of keeping a record of them. At the bottom of each post is brief summary of the general layout of this, and future posts. Thanks for reading. (Also to find other posts, search "cryptogram")
Getting into it...
First, I look back over my first 7 posts, and note that the top 5 currencies have stayed pretty steady for the last week. A few are up and down but they don't seem to be jockeying at all. I do expect Cardano (ADA) to slip out of the top 5. I like Cardano, but it seems very overbought at the moment, i mean, it has no platform yet, just an idea for one. Although it does have a wallet. Nevertheless, I expect it to take a serious dip whenever the inevitable crash comes.
Second - Bitcoin hit 17k over the weekend again and on bithumb it traded for 23K. On the US exchanges it didn't appear to be anywhere over about 17.5k. Today its down about 8 percent form the peak it made on CMC. However, most coins seem to be dipping have a crazy jump in the last 3-4 days.
It appears lightning network is closer to having a benefit, Jameson Lopp tweeted about it this morning. I have a feeling that once payment channels come online, you will see fees exponentially drop. Furthermore, segwit implementation will jump up as people will now have even more of a use case.

Finally, I mentioned HUSH's upcoming fork being similar to the btc private fork. It has a major difference. The HUSH fork will be on the komodo blockchain. They will still airdrop somehow i think, but it will not be quite the same thing. My money is still on btc private. BTW zclassic has implemented a paper wallet for all of you having trouble with their actual wallets. here is the link: https://zclassicpaperwallet.com/
Also, ledger has begun preparing for zclassic and btc private support. Here is a link to the story:

So far my favorite happening is the zclassic and btcp fork. Such an interesting facet of the business.
My second favorite: tie between komodo (KMD) and Particl (PART) both are very promising projects focused on privacy. Can't wait to see if/when/how they pop into the public eye.

Purpose of CryptoGram:
Currently in the crypto space it can be difficult to remember what you have discussed or been thinking from one week to the next. The rapid development of, and many changes in the space keep everyone on their toes. Now that I have been financially involved in the space for roughly a year, I realize that I would love to have my thoughts from 2017 written down somewhere. I believe having this information will help me stay focused, avoid repeating past mistakes, and hopefully help some other people, (anyone who decides to read this,) from making those same mistakes.
Briefly, I need a place to record my train of thought and that place will now be dubbed "CryptoGram"
My initial thoughts on the structure of this post will be:
- About 500 words
- Frequency of once a day to once a week
- Each post will have a number and date
- A snippet of top 5 cmc coins for price reference.
- I will always use these 5 tags, (unless of course there are drastic changes, but for now these will be the tags!)
- bitcoin cryptocurrency ethereum cryptogram libertyhound
