For most people its probably hard to visualize how a decentralized system works in practice. These short videos show how a bitcoin block propagates across nodes globally over the course of the a few seconds after a block is published to the blockchain.
The most amazing thing is the progress that has been made in period from 2015 to 2018. The nodes hosting the bitcoin blockchain are the core of the system, many of them are individual enthusiasts across the globe using their own bandwidth and hardware to host nodes, most universities have them and of course, the miners. It’s an interesting parallel to the growth of the internet 20 years ago.
Be patient with the 2015 video, you won’t need any patience for 2018 though!
