As long as you're on a private Bitcoin wallet doesn't matter if you hold the wallet in a paper wallet or a Nano Ledger. In the case of a split, you'll now have BTC and BTC classic (or legacy).
Let's pray Satoshi that it's not going to happen, that could be bad for Bitcoin reputation since it could be a side effect of disagreement between miners, which will translate into more debates and disagreement over time.
Economically, in the long term we'll be good either way, but in the short term is better to have a safe update, like it happened to Litecoin, and a healthier slower growth.
