Hunter Horsley is the former Facebook product manager . He now directs the Bitwise Asset Management firm and was largely responsible for submitting the latest proposal for publicly traded funds (ETF) based on the company's bitcoins that the Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) rejected.

Libra , the famous cryptocurrency of Facebook to be launched in 2020, has been in the spotlight in recent times, and many regulators, analysts and enthusiasts criptomonedas really do not know what to do with the currency. Horsley says that although he is confident that Libra will have a great debut, it is not likely to be available in all areas, and will be launched in increments instead of all at once.

In a recent interview, he comments:

«I think Libra will be launched, but I think it will be launched outside the US. UU., In a jurisdiction like Switzerland or Singapore, and will not be widely available. I think it is very possible that it will be launched without the participation of Facebook . »

It will be quite interesting to see that Facebook is the company that has been behind Libra all along. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg, the executive director of Facebook , recently underwent a hearing in Congress where he was questioned not only about Libra , but also about the company's general plans for the financial industry in the coming months, according to Get to know Cryptocurrency

There was a lot of anticipation regarding this audience that proved to be too much for currencies like bitcoin , which finally fell by more than $ 800 in the middle range of $ 7,400. However, the currency has demonstrated its resistance once again and, at the time of publication, is now trading above $ 9,000.

Libra has not had the most welcoming reception since it was first announced in June 2019. Many companies that once formed the controversial Libra Associationhave separated from the project. These companies include Mastercard, Stripe and even PayPal. The latter's departure was especially annoying considering that not only has he been one of Libra's biggest supporters, but his former executive, David Marcus, finally left his position in PayPal to serve as Libra's main developer.

After all the controversy, Zuckerberg has since explained:

« Facebook will not be part of the launch of the Libra payment system anywhere in the world until US regulators. They approve it. »

Unfortunately, this could take a long time or, in the worst case, could never happen. Horsley added to his comments stating:

«I would not be surprised if we do not see ( Libra ), as it is currently designed in 2020 ... We believe that Facebook will encourage Calibra ... to use different currencies, or even dollars, to achieve its goal of serving the unbanked. For that reason, we believe this is really great news for crypto.2
