probably not. i mean its very encrypted at a similar level to lower levels of the darkweb. if the government could trace and delete the code of that then the deep web would not be a viable location for the illegal activities that happen there.
I think the government can shut down and stop Bitcoin by not going after the cryptocurrency directly but making it harder and harder for businesses and companies to accept it as a form of payment and if they can cripple the businesses than adoption is going to really really really slow down which is going to hurt it
I think that's hard to do. Because bitcoin reaches all layers of society without any territorial and state boundaries.
