I have created a safety net form myself if at all need arises due to the upcoming hardfolk what i decide on doing is just to diverge my bitcoin holdings into other cryptocurrencies until this dust is down.

Great idea, It should make you more resistant to any losses in bitcoin. If timed right there is the likelihood it will be profitable even since alot of coins with become more desirable. I'm taking a similar path as well.
