This is an interesting conversation. While I hate giving my hard earned money to the government, I agree that it is something that we have to face. I think the IRS needs to come up with a decent method of tracking your gains regarding what needs to be reported. With the volatility of the crypto markets currently, I am trading like crazy and even have a bot helping me. I certainly am not keeping track of every single trade. I do however keep track of my overall portfolio and how it is growing. It just is not realistic to expect us to keep track of every trade with the pace that these trades are happening in.

I agree, it's nearly impossible for someone to track every single trade. The problem here is that the government is acting like crypto = stock market. They expect everyone to treat it as such and the only thing they have in common would be TA & charts.
