Japan's leading low-cost airline, Peach Aviation, is working to establish a payment system in the form of a bitcoin. Recently, the company has been reassessing Bitcoin's strategy after Japan hacked a major cryptographic exchange. Peach Aviation, and its bitcoin purchasing partner, have made their position about this situation.

Peach's Bitcoin Acceptance Plans
Peach Aviation recently announced plans to accept bitcoins in the purchase of airline tickets. This came after hacking Coincheck, a major Japanese bitcoin exchange - with NEM worth 58 billion yen - after Peach's announcement that it would stop plans to accept bitcoins.

Peach Aviation says it has more than 90 flights per day, 12 internal and 13 external routes and more than 13,000 passengers a day.

The company first announced in May that it would accept Bitcoin after it cooperated with Bitpoint Japan, a Japanese stock exchange. In addition, Peach plans to expand its Bitcoin payment system by partnering with local administrative bodies and companies. Peach and Bitpoint companies are also thinking about innovating such as establishing Bitcoin ATMs at airports, validating Bitcoin in souvenir shops and restaurants.

"Both companies are planning to start providing this service in the fall of 2017, and they will make various adjustments in a phased way, taking into account various laws and regulations." However, in December, Peach announced plans to postpone its plans for BitCoin for another fiscal year, which corresponds to March 2018.

Peach's Plan Just Late
Peach's spokesman Nikkei said: "We are reviewing the service from time to time," he acknowledged. He explained the reason for this delay as Bitcoin's volatility has been intense since the last months of 2017. He noted that the company wants to start offering this service, but expects the market to stop. At the same time, Peach also denied rumors that Bitcoin's payment system plans could be canceled. The spokesperson said, "Actually, I was organizing the payment system."

Bitpoint Japan then gave its own statement to explain the situation. "We will keep you informed about the time and content to start serving, as it is finalized," he added:

"At this moment we are working diligently to realize this service.
