I need a link or guide on how to establish a wallet to use with Steemit. It would be nice if it also explained how to buy steam-power or Steem from that wallet.

Your wallet is actually your username metanoia and not some crazy bunch of random letters and numbers. You can buy steem from various places check them here - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem/#markets
