The Kodak technology company, in partnership with Wenn Digital, announced the launch of the Kodak One platform and Kodak Coin, a cryptocurrency designed to empower photographers to manage the rights to their images.

In a statement said that Kodak One will create a digital book encrypted using blockchain technology, where image professionals can store their work and then license it within the same platform.

While with Kodak Coin, participating photographers are invited to enter a new economy, which receives payment for the license of their work immediately after the sale, on a secure platform.

"For many in the technology industry, blockchain and cryptocurrency are buzzwords, but for photographers who have struggled to exercise control over their work and how it is used, these are key words to solve what seemed impossible," he said. CEO of Kodak, Jeff Clarke.

"Kodak has always sought to democratize photography and make licenses fair for artists. These technologies give the photography community an innovative and easy way to do just that, "he said.

The initial offer of currencies will open on January 31, 2018, and is open to accredited investors from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, among other selected countries.
