Well, this whole BIP 91 and UAHF situation has changed quite a bit.
And if I'm anything like anybody, I've grown a bit weary of it. Everything is so much more fun and exciting in a bull market.
Trust me, I can whip out the ol' bear claws like any decent trader worth half his weight in intangible assets, but come on.
Ethereum has dipped further and is doing this weird thing known as "going sideways" - I'm sorry, did we not just have some incredible news?? CISCO and MasterCard just hopped on the EEA bandwagon. Litecoin (also down) - has released more "point of coin" devices globally than any other digital asset. OK.
And lest not forget the majority of everything else. Bloody af.
Maybe a good time to buy?
But we are not here to discuss trading strategies.
We're here to discuss the disgusting, evil - maniacal plan hatched behind closed doors, in the dimly lit secret of the night.
Yes, where lizard people eat platters of insects, and nuclear warheads are exchanged over favor for favor. Where the gears and inner workings of the human mind retreat to peel back the veil of every day life. Yes.
We're talking cryptocurrency conspiracies.
Everything mentioned here is neither to persuade or dissuade you, or anyone, from making financial decisions. The statements made here are unofficial and hypothetical, and neither accuse or allege that any person or organization have committed any act of deceit or acted in any way that conflicts with local or foreign law.
Yes, that's right people. We're talking Bitcoin. Specifically, the upcoming Bitcoin Hardfork via, ViaBTC exchange.
ViaBTC is doing the hardforking.
And in order to get said new hardforked BitcoinCash - your Bitcoin, drum roll - must be in a wallet where you control your private keys, or..... an Exchange that supports BCC.
So, users flock to ViaBTC. It's easier than setting up a cold storage wallet. And it's at least a 'recognizable' name in the community. (not so much in the West... we tend not to use the Yen) and what is to happen, if say - there is a 'hack' on ViaBTC when all this valuable BTC pours into the exchange in hopes of free BCC ?
Ledger Wallets are on back order.
I don't see the official BTC wallets listed on bitcoincash.org (which as long as you control the private keys, you're good. And can later grab your BTC as the amount in said 'wallet' are recorded at the moment of the fork)
Pretty suspicious.
And we all know how 'secure' exchanges are (heavy sarcasm) - and there have been quite a few breaches lately. Ethereum (twice)... Veritaseum... BTCe ... Mt. Gox is in the news... it leads me to believe, this is also part of what is keeping the prices relatively low, despite all the good news.
So, while BCC sounds appealing - to me, it is not worth risking my hard-earned BTC (which has a very bright looking near and distant future). I recommend a cold storage wallet if possible!
If you need a coupon link for Ledger S Wallet, let me know. I don't post those links or banners any more, I think Steemit picks it up as spam. But yeah, there's a section for a promo code, so lemme know! :)
What do you think? Are we still in a bear market?
Where is BTC headed? Is BitcoinCash going to be worth more than Bitcoin?
Let me know in the comments!
TL;DR -
Get a damn Bitcoin cold storage wallet you cheap prick. You don't store millions of dollars of cash in a shoebox. (unless you do, then by all means, plz send address and next weeks agenda) Do it and get some free BitcoinCash. Otherwise you've got a few offline options, then it's trusting the exchanges/web-based solutions.. (which nothing bad has ever come from)
TL;DR LOL!
