Spot on! The list of benefits to this 'incident':
-> put a blight on BitCoin
-> blame a foreign entity -- it's N. Korea today
-> force folks who've kept their computers w/ older Windows OS, due to naughty behavior intentionally programmed, install updates or purchase Windows 10 (naughty)
-> deflect from NSA and Microsoft complicity (they're the victims, after all). "Someone stole my stuff.", "We were taken advantage of."
-> prepare the sheeple for a virus, worm or other internet event when they pull the switch (boiling frogs)
-> and what else???

In the meantime: backup your files, scan important documents and put them on a thumb drive, use encryption when possible (HP just revealed keylogging software on their machines)
