People tend to forget the dips are when you're supposed to buy even more... It's not just buying once, but accumulating as much as viable. When I did teach investing, I did always say that when the value dives hard, you're supposed to buy from one third to half of what spare money you have and when things go more than three-fold the buy price, you can sell some, but never more than half.
