Bitcoin's great divide - Scaling the mountain

doom and gloom looms in the cracks of a community divided
where we go from here has yet to be decided
fear, uncertainty and doubt is cast upon us every day
aiding haste to decisions made to quickly find our way

scaling this mountain is no easy task
why not simply change this bit of code you may ask
no amount of testing can predict the minds of man
not even the bitcoin jesus can

we look at every different angle and try to break it down
many github pull requests being passed around
the lightning network strikes again to demonstrate its quickness
shedding all our extra weight with segregated witness

meeting with the largest miners to discuss our future
ever increasing tension on the stitches of our suture
The walls are closing in, the chain around our neck is squeezing
do we even really know who we are appeasing?

maybe it's the miners threatening to set sail
maybe it's the ethereum fanboy wanting us to fail
maybe it's the hodlers wanting the price to rise
or maybe it's big business wanting to centralize

whatever the motives are that are driving this urgency
it seems that all we ever get is just divergency
if we take a step back and take a deep breath
how many times have they predicted our death?

when someone asks what path you think that all of us should take
I say there is no path but one for us to make
there will be hidden dangers and snakes in the grass
but once we reach the top we'll have become world class
