There are new efforts to combat quantum computing attacks on the blockchain – according to Coindesk.com

For those who do not know, there is a fear that quantum computers could be a huge risk to Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies). The fear is that they would be powerful enough to brute force public keys and potentially be able to obtain the private key that goes along with it.

While it’s a far-off risk, it is still a risk. However, according to coindesk.com there are already solutions in the works at the moment. If you never knew about this risk then don’t worry, there’s no need to be alarmed just yet; but if you already knew about this potential problem then this is really good news.
