Collectible trading card action game Chibi Fighters is getting a sequel. The development of Chibi Fighter 2.0 has been green lit, and it will be made by A1 Fighters LLC. All assets from the first Chibi Fighters game will be converted into the new game, while players who own land in A1 Fighters will also earn goodies.
Details on the game are still scarce. The development team announced on the official Twitter account that various announcement will be done soon.
Considering earlier comments by lead developer Garry Runke in the original whitepaper, it's likely that Chibi Fighters 2.0 will have cross-blockchain battles. It's a feature Runke already wanted for the first game.
The first Chibi Fighters was made on the Ethereum blockchain, but later also made a move onto the Tron blockchain. Runke preferred the Tron blockchain because it doesn't require users to pay transaction fees.
A1 Fighters working on two games
The development team is working on two different games. Chibi Fighters 2.0 is of course one of them, while the other one is A1 Fighters. In essence A1 Fighters is a 2D battle royale action game where players are fighting for cryptocurrency airdrops.
A1 Fighters LLC see their battle royale game is pure gamification of cryptocurrency marketing. Many blockchain startups use so-called airdrops to promote their project and spread tokens across a large number of wallets. Normally consumers need to use their social media to be able to earn an airdrop, now instead they can interact with the rewards inside a game. This provides a whole new level of interaction.
A1 Fighters could be on to something by combining crypto giveaways and airdrops with video games and fun. It sure beats the whole concept of sharing posts on Facebook and Twitter. Not only the winner of a round will earn items, but there are also random drops in the game. A1 Fighters will launch before February 2020.
