Post-apocalyptic adventure game Age of Rust is now available in early access for investors who have a certain token in their Enjin wallet. Those who have Age of Rust MFT tokens can now play the game. Game studio SpacePirate Games announced the launch of their early access phase this week.
Age of Rust is far from finished. The studio says that gamers are likely to run into bugs and graphical glitches, even though the game does feature lots of gameplay mechanics. The version that's playable now is a pre-alpha demo.
Age of Rust is a dark sci-fi adventure game in which players can find bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It's build on the Enjin blockchain. Therefore it offers multiverse-fungible tokens (MFTs). This means that certain game items can also be used in other games, like for example the upcoming cyberpunk role playing game Neon District and the turn-based strategy game Forest Knight.
Age of Rust explained in short
In the game players will explore abandoned space stations, dark caverns and ruins on far away planets. Puzzles and secrets might reward players with cryptocurrencies, like enjin, ethereum, bitcoin or Rust Bits. These Rust Bits are needed, as players will need at least 1000 of them in order to start playing Age of Rust.
On top of that there are enemies in Age of Rust, which means there's also combat. Players can find guns, flame throwers, armor and shield to stay alive. However, the developers also stated that sometimes it's best just to be stealthy.
Oh, you wonder how much cryptocurrencies have been hidden? The developers claim to have hidden 500.000 ENJ worth in blockchain items and 20 bitcoin inside the game world.
Enjin looking to revolutionize gaming
The Enjin blockchain is build on Ethereum. The platform wants to offer gaming projects the ability to tokenize their in-game assets. Earlier this month they launched a market place for trading, selling and buying in-game items in exchange for ENJ. Enjin is already one of the cryptocurrencies that's standard on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
Multiverse is the buzz word that surrounds the blockchain startup. The idea is that every game has its own universe, but certain in-game assets can be used in multiple games. This would be the multiverse. Recently Alterverse announced it would be dropping in-game items in EnjinCraft, an Enjin-powered version of Minecraft.
Yesterday Enjin received an investment from Blockchain Ventures. However, none of the parties involved released details about the investment.
