BitTorrent Live launches on September 20th

The BitTorrent Foundation is launching a beta version of its video streaming platform BLive, or BitTorrent Live, on September 20th. The company behind the peer-to-peer protocol announced the launch this week. With BLive launching in beta this Friday, the company is ahead of schedule. Originally the platform was supposed to launch its beta phase in the last quarter of this year.

BitTorrent Live is a social media video streaming app, and it's one of the initiatives to give the BitTorrent Token (BTT) a use-case. The audience can watch their favorite content creators on BLive and reward them using BTT. In addition every content creator will get a share of advertisement income. This will be around 30 to 40 percent.

BitTorrent Live one of the first BTT use-cases

The Tron Foundation bought BitTorrent in the summer of 2018. Consumers can earn BTT by sharing files in the BitTorrent ecosystem using Utorrent. Now with the addition of BLive and the future integration of TronTV, both Tron and BitTorrent are finally getting a bit more usability.

At this moment one BTT is $0.000619. That's up 8.25 percent in the past 24 hours. This has probably very little to do with the announcement of BLive, as the entire market has seen its value go up. Tron went up 7.13% and is now $0.017407.
