Tron investing in EOS Knights developer

The game studio behind blockchain game EOS Knights is going to collaborate with Tron. Tron is a new strategic investor as game studio Biscuit will bring its blockchain game to the Tron blockchain. In addition the game will be updated and renamed to Knight Story. The two companies announced the partnership this week.

EOS Knights is attractive to Tron because it was one of the biggest blockchain games on the market, both in terms of daily active users and transaction volume. Players can create cute characters, raid dungeons, earn rewards and upgrade their heroes. At its peak the game had over 6 thousand daily players and more than 20 thousand dollars in daily revenue.

Knight Story is still sort of the same game. It's what many people describe as an Idle RPG. There's not much interaction required to play this game. The game will launch in December 2019 on iOS and Android devices. It will support TRX and TRC-based tokens, including in-game assets that have been tokenized on the blockchain.

Investment comes from Tron Arcade

In November last year the Tron Foundation announced Tron Arcade. This would be a 100 million dollar fund to attract game developers. As a result Tron wanted to position its blockchain as the primary blockchain for gaming. However, Ethereum is still the biggest player on the market. In addition sidechains like Enjin are making Ethereum a promising platform for the future blockchain games.

Tron Arcade hasn't been very active. In January they announced that Chibi Fighters would make the jump to the Tron blockchain. However, the development of that game has been halted. The developers are now working on A1 Fighters.
