Its now a good time to be in crypto. The red bloodbath of the past few weeks is in decline.
Most Altcoins are very machine the green, with bitcoins dominance decreasing.
But its of clear note that around the time of the crash, a huge amount of bad headlines were spreading around the media. From misinformed tweets bringing down the price of NEO, to bankers making ludicrous derogatoy assumptions about crypto investors.
But what was going on behind the scenes? JP Morgan has been buying a crypto currency exchange, and hedge funds have been getting into it. While not technically illegal, it does seem very disingenuous. But when have large banks been known to play fair?
Its very clear that market manipulation is easy win Crypto Currency. Ive effected the markets myself by accident on small exchanges I've bought a thousand dollars worth of a token, only to see it spike up. If I can do the, then imagine what a bank or hedge fund could do.
With this in mind, the recent crash has not been attributed to any particular cause. It was speculated the it was the man in charge of the 'MT Got' funds, that was releasing it onto exchanges. But since it appears to have been sold in private sales, we have to look elsewhere.
Of course, the 'Volatile' Crypto markets could just be making their own rules. But the recent change of sentiment from institutions makes me think otherwise.
Just like the Bit-torrent style technology crypto's are based on, there is no holding it back. So just as happened with music in the 90's napster was described as the killer of the music industry. But since has been bought and weaponised to make money. Streaming was also looked down upon, but now the mainstay of a subscription based industry.
I am not a conspiracy theorist. However it has always been an expectation of mine that the big financial institutions would not want to get into the crypto market at a bad price. Since the market in manipulatable, and they have the means it seems inevitable that they would use their money to bring the market to the bottom before buying in. You could even argue that you wouldn't respect them as business people if they did any different.
So could the massive drops be them creating an opportunity to get in?
This unregulated wild west, is what makes crypto so exciting. However the gunslingers are moving into town. So i think its going to be interesting.
Im interested in other peoples thougts on this.
