Look for some efficient micro-payment blockchains, such as Stellar, LTC, or even Doge.
For bigger investments, I would look for increased technology, such as if a blockchain can handle a larger amount of transactions per second, or if they have a new smart contract feature that perhaps is better than Ethereums
