There is this prevailing thought, in my opinion, that the crypto-community believes that government just can not be part of the solution of a global crypto/blockchain based economy. Look, if you believe in end-of-the-world, apocalyptic scenarios then yes, big government and taxes do not have a role in that world. So in a world in which there can be a global, digital currency, big government must be involved. Let's face it, taxes, still make sense in whatever future you're thinking and, if government is somehow cut out of taxing blockchain-based commerce, which will replace more fiat-based commerce, then governments will only get worse, with regards to basic oversight and protective services. We should work now in helping government find ways to tax blockchain-based commerce instead of blocking it from the government. Blocking will only drive governments to make it illegal or severely constrain or weaken the blockchain economy, as some opined occurred when NY finally came out with the BitLicense requirements for crypto companies operating out of NY. Let's work together on this and find solutions for our local government and neighborhood merchants that work for city regulators, crypto-companies, blockchain innovators, and users. Some of these solutions, I'm sure, would work on the national level! Lets start to get real on the blockchain and get serious in getting significant conversion from the fiat economy to the blockchain economy. Ventura can be the place where city government and the local crypto-economy create the partnership on which all other cities follow and model!!!!
