Don't underestimate the power of Ellen, I think the masses are taking notice.

Last night while at work here at the hospital some of the other nurses started asking me about bitcoin!

I think it's the Ellen effect taking over!

I've been preaching about cyptocurrency and blockchain technology for months now at work, and no one has even batted a eye or paid any attention, to weirdo Phil and his crazy ideas. But once Ellen mentions it, it's suddenly a good idea.

I find I just don't have the patience or zest I did before. I feel like I've already worn myself out over the last few months telling people about it and not having them listen. No all of sudden they care and want to know more. The few times I have tried to explain it recently has got my nowhere and people seam to glaze over. I've found myself referring them back to videos on YouTube to get the basic and see if there's still interested in learning more than I'd be happy to talk further.

This seams to be working the best and actually last week someone was really excited about the whole thing and after her million questions I finally starting talking about steemit and finally someone had the same reaction I did. She was amazed by the entire thing and how something like this even existed, we'll see if she takes the next step and starts blogging, but I've been taking the stand off approach and gave up preaching to the masses.

I'll just let Ellen do it!

I think people are slowly coming around and I'm staring to see it first hand

Definitely! My friends, my parents and my parents' friends all know about it now and ask me about it now! I used to mention it often to them with not much interest, but now I literally have people looking for me to talk about crypto!

Yeah, it's really going mainstream fast, it's definitely exciting to watch.

Im on the same boat as you... people only now becoming interested in listening and me now only becoming tired of explaining.

At the end of the day, I try to explain anyway, but I don't feel the enthusiasm I once had.

Yeah, the enthusiasm is really dying away, but it is nice when you finally come across something that is really excited and really curious about it.

More and more, it's going mainstream! My 70 year old neighbour asked me if I had heard of Bitcoin! So I showed her my Jaxx wallet with BTC and the other currencies. It was unreal! Then I showed her a pic on my phone of some silver I bought with crypto trading and she couldn't believe it! I think her wording was something like "But CNN said it was fake and only terrorists use it, I didn't know regular folks use it!".
People are coming around, but for the most part they only have heard of Bitcoin itself.

Yeah, when they ask about bitcoin and you tell them there are over 1000 other currencies also available with more popping up daily, it really blows there mind. Funny the impression some people still have though.

The truth is most times the power of persuasion is key in getting people to key in, into a certain idea however, Ellen must have done the magic, where certainly you haven't really had an effect on them.
Godspeed lol,

Yeah, I definitely can't compare to Ellen...lol.

Ellen talking about Bitcoin is definitely amazing for crypto.

More people hearing about Bitcoin -->more people buying --> more adoption.

Yeah, it's good to have people at least learning the basics and understanding it better.

It takes a while to get the word out but once it’s out, watch out. 🐓🐓

Yeah, I think we're going to start moving past the blade and up to the stick in the hockey stick pattern!

I hope you are right! People have lost faith in the stock market so it will be interesting to see of the regular person that has been holding cash will take notice. 🐓

Well I cant say I have experienced anything different. Being relatively new to the crypto space and learning new things everyday, I am constantly looking for conversations that can broaden my knowledge or I am just looking to share my excitement with friends and family and I have also found some strong resistance. I do however have one friend who seems interested and he has started asking questions, which is getting me really excited so lets hope for the best.

That's pretty good at least, I have had some friends come to me too, but then it never went anywhere. Just take it slow with them...lol.

No without a doubt will attempt an Ellen type explanation hopefully mine will work tough...

Hopefully the sheep will find their way to the watering hole! It will take a true price change to gold and silver to mirror crypto currencies or else they won’t work. 👍🏼🍺🥓

I mean, people have been calling for huge gains in the silver and gold prices for years now and nothing is happening, but cryptos are impossible to control.

Do you know that coin with a big B ? People think that it is a bitcoin. It will take a great deal of time and effort to educate people that don't believe in what you are saying or don't want to know anything new. But things change ...

Your right I think many of them do, I love when they ask "You have one, I want to see it?"

It's a good thing Ellen is taking up the slack, but I can understand how draining it must have been for you. Like the Oprah book club or something...

But the bottom line is at least people are finally taking notice, one way or another, and that will help in the end.

Yeah, I don't know why I felt I needed to preach to everyone, oh well, hopefully it's not too late by the time they realize.

I've been telling my friends and relatives about cryptocurrencies and the underlying technology for several months already too. I hope I still have the motivation to explain things all over again once the hype is on again. :)

Yeah, save your energy for when they come to you...lol.

The power of the boob tube.

Yeah, it reached the masses.

Because steemit has different rules with other accounts.
