I like the idea of automatic buy and sell. Just, isn't sometimes crypto so volatile that you get your stop buy/sell orders triggered by a short spike, if you see what I mean?

Also, I heard you have engineering experience... ever considered trying a trading bot? You can run simulations on past data and create a model to apply to the future, tune existing strategies, no coding experience needed, else you can also code your own strategy of course.

Recently I got involved in this project and I can recommend you to give it a try, there is also a "paper" mode (real time trading, but no trade done, only simulated) which I recommend to see how good or bad the bot is. I think you may understand it quite well and tune it better than me.

https://github.com/DeviaVir/zenbot

It works better on linux/mac, but you an get it working also in windows of course. Maybe I'll write soon a tutorial on steem just to get people started and give it a try on "paper".

There are many other bots, but I liked this one because it's open source and I tried another one without success, so I stick to this one for a while at least to learn how it works. It can also send you signals if you don't trust it to trade automatically for you.

Let me know what you think.

That really is, as you say, an "awesome trick"! Thank you!

I have learned from you soo much and enjoying the TA on charts. Was glad i did a TA analysis on icon and was exactly sam as yours. Thank you

Intresting post!

Every time I watch your video I think of one of my friend because he sounds exactly like you.. not to mention you guys look similar too. It's actually pretty scary. But thank you for the upload!

Your content is supreme man, I have been watching all your videos again and again and as a result my game has improved a lot real quickly…

Would you consider going deeper on your thought process for selecting coins to hold mid-term and what are the criterias to estimate the highest ROI percentage wise of a coin and consequently when is the best time to move on to some other candidates? Would be also valuable to know your thoughts on how to organize a winning portfolio and how much to allocate to each investment category: scalping / day trading / swing trading…
Thank you

This is awesome, many thanks! I have two silly questions I wanted to clarify

a) does this strategy depend on you having a certain base amount of coins? e.g. how do you sell coins at a higher price ($1.33) that you haven't bought until the price hits ($1.31). On Binance I can only do stop limit orders with the funds I have in my wallet and any order I place subtracts them when I place it

b) (I am a newb) I understand the shorting term to mean you "sell" your coins, but when you say "enter into a short position and then close it at $X price" I feel like I could be missing something and you might be implying something else I don't understand?

Many thanks in advance!

Phil you deserve so many more upvotes !!! your the best crypto educator on the net. Ty so much for sharing your content with us.

Because of you I take a lot of good decisions !

happy to help you!

First of thanks for another wonderful explanation Philakone! I have a question about automatic selling and buying on Bitfinex that I can't seem to figure out (not margin trading, but the regular exchange). Maybe you can help me out or one of the other readers.

For example: I own EOS and the price at the moment I want to execute this is $8. I expect it to go to $11 and than retrace to $9. What I want to do is sell at $11 and than buy back at $9 automatically. The selling part is no problem, but I can't put a buy order in at $9, since it hasn't passed this price yet. Is there a way to get this to scenario to work automatically, or will I have to put the buy order in after the sell order has been executed? Thanks in advance!

why not use stop-limit to save on trading fees ?

And how is it possible that bitfinex allows you to sell coins that you don't have yet ?

stop limits are entirely different things for this strategy. also margin trading lets you do this.

I do not post much on twitter, but I do follow you. I am not sure if you will see this or not, but I think you need to know you have helped me more than you know. Your lessons are better than a college course or book. The negativity you have had to deal with is ridiculous, and comes from lazy assholes who just think this is an easy way to make money. You have taken the time to actually show people how to do their own TA, and how to do it RIGHT! Ignore the hate. Just know, there are many more like me who truly appreciate all you have done to teach us, without asking for anything. That is a very rare trait, and you should be applauded for it. You earned my respect and if I can ever return the favor I will be happy to do so.

Great work and thks so much for your dedication and enthusiasm for all the hard work you do for us! The live play by play you do is such a great tool to educate us. Don't let the haters get to you there will always be that component in the space you operate in.

Wowww.. finally I got to understand what it means : stop buy / sell, limit order :) :) Thanks sooooooo sooooooooo much Phil...

Wow Great VIds Philakone.. learning so much from all of them, just finished watching all 15 Tutorials and they are so helpful and valuable much appreciated!! Now gotta learn to put it all to use.. thanks again!!
