Catriona, congratulations on all the great buzz about this book! I must catch up with the Last Ditch books, such a fun bunch of characters! Thanksgiving is a perfect setting for a "fish out of water" mystery. No holiday is as quintessentially American. Most cultures do not put marshmallows on their dinner plates.
My step mother had friends who were wealthy and refined. They still had their European accents and I believe they were survivors. We were invited to break the fast at their home after Yom Kippur and I was asked to bring the soup. Even when you know everyone, it can still be intimidating. I salute you and your pies! I love Thanksgiving!
